Frequently Asked Questions
HeroBox is a community driven non profit organization that requires your participation to effectivly advance our mission. Contact us today to help support our heroes.
1. Is HeroBox a non-profit organization? HeroBox is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization. 100% of your donation is tax deductible deductible for federal income tax purposes.
2. What is in a HeroBox? Service members request a wide variety of items depending on their sex, location, and other factors. Our main goal is to provide the soldiers with all of their essential items (toiletries, nutrition, etc.) and as many if not all of their comfort items (i.e. CDs, DVDs, books, candy, etc). Click here to see a list of the most commonly requested items.
3. How does the myHero program work? Service members have specific needs and wants while deployed. They register with HeroBox and create a "wish list". Service members are listed in our database based on an algorithm that considers the date they registered and the total number of HeroBoxes they have received. This algorithm creates a "next in line" process. When sponsors register to support a hero, they are given the next Hero in line. The sponsor will support their Hero by sending one HeroBox each month per the time they have specified. Each HeroBox should include some or all of the items the service members is requesting.
4. How can I get involved? We offer multiple ways for you to get involved, including donating money, supplies, your services (creative, legal, etc.), your time, and many other options. If you want to get involved, simply contact us and we'll put you to work!
